You don’t need to drop big bucks to get great lashes. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that NYX Doll Eye Volume mascara ($8) is my new favorite drugstore-level mascara. This is big, ladies!
This mascara is available in 3 varieties (volume, long lash, and waterproof) and the volume formula not only creates a wispy fringe of lashes, it also visibly lengthens and darkens lashes to a rich, deep black.
This lovely little tube may look unassuming, but it offers quite a lot for the price of a drugstore mascara. The formula is a bit wet (but still on the drier side, like I like it), but not so goopy that you can’t swipe the excess product on the lip of the tube in just a few swipes. The hourglass-shaped wand hugs every corner of the lashes, defining even the tiniest wisps on the inner corner of eyes. It holds a curl all day without drooping. (This is some of the best curl-holding power I’ve ever experienced in a mascara.) And even the non-waterproof formula is smudge-resistant. My applications have lasted through an hour-long Pilates class!
It gives lashes major drama in minimal time, it’s inexpensive…it’s pretty much perfect.
