Ready for a supershiny lipgloss that not only brightens your lips, but whitens teeth, too? Pout & Polish ($27.50) was developed by New York City-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Jennifer Jablow. The NYU-educated dentist specializes in perfecting the smiles of her patients, and now she’s bringing her talent right into your purse.
This stuff is nothing short of FABulous. The dual-ended gloss stick has a built-in brush applicator that dispenses a lovely (not sticky) shimmery gloss on 1 end. On the other, a doefoot felt-tip applicator dispenses a teeth whitener.
The gloss is available in 3 colors (pink ice, berry ice, and clear). Each of the colors is sheer, shimmery, and utterly pretty. I’m fair-skinned with light hair, and the berry looked a little scary when I first cracked open the tube, but when I applied it, it went on sheer, infused with just the right amount of rosy color. The pink is flattering and feminine, and the clear gives a hint of sparkle for days when you want to go natural. The gloss is packed with hyaluraunic acid fillers (aka plumpers), co-enzyme Q10, green tea, and vitamin E to soothe & smooth lips.
While the gloss is in fact fabulous, the truly amazing part is the teeth whitener. The fact that both of these products are contained in 1 portable package is so great. The stain eraser/whitener was meant to be used after drinking, eating, or smoking to whiten and prevent future stains from developing. Twist the stick to dispense the whitener, and rub the felt tip directly on teeth using light pressure for about 2 minutes, and kiss yellow teeth goodbye.
Have you ever tried whitening strips or gels? You know the burning, drying effect they have on your gums and lips? This whitener is peroxide-free, and doesn’t burn at all. In fact, it’s minty, and leaves your mouth feeling totally clean & refreshed. If used daily, the tube will last you about a month.
And yes, it DOES work. For 2 days, I used it after eating and drinking Diet Coke and red wine, and it left my mouth feeling minty and just a tad brighter. With repeated use, this stuff can really make a difference in your smile.
