I have been holding onto my Tendertone lip balm for literally years (pretty gross, I know), rationing it out bit by bit because I bought the pearly pale pink shade when it was a limited edition item. So I’m really excited about China Glaze‘s new Hunger Games collection of polishes, “Capitol Colours.” The Capitol is the ruling entity of the nation of Panem, a place where excess, luxury, decadent food, fantastical fashion, and body modification are the norm. If you’ve read any of the books in the trilogy, you know how dark, sinister, and bizarre The Capitol and its rulers are. I think these colors capture that sense beautifully.

As All Lacquered Up pointed out, the shade names reference the specialty of each of the 12 districts that comprise the nation of Panem. Love that!

The collection hits stores on March 1; the movie hits theatres March 23.

This kit is a bit of an investment, but it goes beyond basic brow products. Tucked inside, you’ll find necessities and treats for your arches, including:

• A set of stencils so you can determine your ideal brow shape and thickness
• Brow Powder Duo
• Anastasia tweezers
• Clear brow gel to set your brows in place
• Matte Camille highlighter to spotlight your arches
• Mini dual-ended brush (angle-cut brush for applying powder on one end, spoolie brush for brushing brows on the other)
• And a DVD and instructions to pull it all together.

In addition to the brow products, the kit includes a Cooling Eye Brightener (to bring life back to tired, baggy eyes), and a mini tube of Lash Lifting Mascara.So, to get brows that looked like they were just perfected by a Hollywood pro, measure where your ideal brow should fall using the enclosed instructions, marking the end points and arch of your brow with brow powder. Then pick the stencil that’s the closest match to your natural brow shape and align it with the marks you made when measuring. Fill in the hollow stencil area with the darker version of the brow powder, then remove the stencil. Pluck any hairs that fall outside of the dark brow powder; this will give you that flattering arch tailored to your facial features. Then, brush the powder through your brow hairs with the spoolie end of the brush to diffuse the color and make it look more natural. Swipe on the highlighter beneath your arch to define your brow and open up the entire eye area. Set your brows with clear brow gel, and you’re done!

The process is nearly goof-proof, and if you need it to be even easier, just refer to the included DVD/instructions. Although this kit is a pricey $75, you’ll save tons of money in the long-run, when compared to visiting a brow pro monthly, or purchasing the products individually.

In a nutshell, the Clarisonic is utterly amazing. Cleansing your skin is simple, and becomes second nature after a few sessions. After powering up the rechargeable battery, you turn on the device and the brush head vibrates. The Mia 2 features 2 speeds, so you can select which feels right for your skin. You then clean your skin for 60 seconds; the device beeps and temporarily pauses in intervals so you know when to move the brush to another area of your face. Start with the forehead (20 seconds), move to your chin and nose (20 seconds), then do your cheeks (10 seconds each). The brush didn’t feel harsh at all, but I felt like I was getting my face really clean.

After the first use, my skin felt like butter. I’ve never had problem skin — in fact, I always thought my skin was pretty good, except for the occasional breakout. But I realize now that my skin was definitely not living up to its potential. The Clarisonic whisked away all the dead skin cells that I didn’t even know were there, making my skin glow. My face felt soft and smooth, and I looked more well-rested. Because the Clarisonic cleans your skin so thoroughly, any skincare products that you apply after will sink in better and be more effective.

One thing I want to mention is that I use a liquid exfoliant on my face regularly. It’s not really fair to call the Clarisonic an exfoliant, because it does so much more than that. The exfoliating product I’ve been using doesn’t even compare to what the Clarisonic has already done for my skin.

Included in the box was a charger (pictured above), 2 brush heads (one for normal skin, with a black circle in the middle, and one for deep pore cleansing, with a blue circle in the middle ), a plastic brush cover that assists in removing the brush head, a plastic travel case, and a sample of Philosophy’s Purity facial cleanser (which I love). Clarisonic recommends changing the brush heads every 3 months; they’re available for about $20 where the Clarisonic is sold.

The full-size Clarisonic can also be used as an exfoliating body brush; the Mia 2 is designed more for use on the face. But you can use it on your bod, as well; it just may take a bit longer to exfoliate larger areas. Brushing your skin helps to exfoliate, whisk away dead skin cells, and make it more luminous and radiant. You’ll look healthier, more well-rested, and energetic after using this
