Estee Lauder x Mad Men

Just like everybody else on the planet, I love love love Mad Men. Love it. I wish I was married to Don Draper (despite the unabashed affairs, constant boozing, and the whole lying-about-his-identity thing). Jon Hamm as DD is quite possibly the best TV character ever. I can’t wait until the new season premieres on March 25!

The show has inspired cocktails, fashion lines, retro hairstyles, the return of the classically-dressed man, and the resurgence of ’60s style on the street (complete with a limited edition MM line by Banana Republic). But a MAD MEN beauty collection?! I can’t even handle this. Continue reading

Golden Globes Recap

Last night’s Golden Globe Awards brought out the brightest stars in Hollywood, and overall, the ladies and gentlemen pulled off a collective fabulous look. Trends of the evening were metallic sequined gowns (love); natural, fresh faces; daring eye makeup; and of course, red lips. Jennifer Aniston (above left) and Reese Witherspoon kept the focus on their faces with bangs and bright eyes.

Another shot of Jen, because I adore her and she always manages to look incredibly put-together with an air of effortlessness.

The gorgeous cast of everyone’s favorite show, Mad Men. Don Draper (Jon Hamm) grew a hot beard, and Peter (Vincent Kartheiser) went blond, while the ladies kept it retro with red lipstick and hourglass silhouettes. Continue reading

Joan Holloway in Real Life

Christina HendricksSeason 3 of the best show on television (AMC’s Mad Men) concluded on Sunday night. We’ll have to wait until next year to find out what will become of Don and Betty Draper, but Joan Holloway ended the season on an upswing: she was asked to be the office manager of new ad agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

What I love so much about Joan, played by actress Christina Hendricks, is how different she appears on the show, compared to real life. Period makeup dictates much of Joan’s professional/sexpot look, but off-camera, she is much more modern, much more flexible in her beauty routine.

Get the Look: Mad Men’s Joan Holloway

Joan HollowayAll the men want to be with her, all the women want to be her. Mad Men‘s Joan Holloway may be the gear that keeps ’60s ad agency Sterling Cooper running smoothly, but behind that office demeanor is a woman who men (not-so-secretly) lust after. She’s got the looks, the curves, the style, and the wit that draw men in and make women jealous (remember when she effortlessly advised Peggy to change her ad for a roommate?) After the jump, learn how to steal Joan’s beauty style. You’re on your own with the curves. Continue reading
